Sid Vicious’ WWE Hall of Fame induction is official for 2026, but fans shouldn’t expect to hear a speech when his name is honored during WrestleMania weekend.

Last month, WWE confirmed that “Sycho” Sid Vicious would be inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame. Now, new details have come from Sid’s son Gunnar, who shared an update on Facebook about how the induction will be handled and what fans should expect.

Gunnar revealed that while the family plans to attend WrestleMania 42 weekend events, including WrestleCon, Sid’s induction will be handled differently than many other Hall of Fame entries. That’s because Sid is being placed into the Legacy Wing, which typically does not include live acceptance speeches during the ceremony.

While updating fans about the family’s plans for WrestleMania weekend, Gunnar explained that Sid’s Legacy Wing induction means there will not be a traditional speech delivered during the ceremony.

“There will be no acceptance speech because they are putting him in the legacy wing. We will just be in the crowd… We would have been honored to give a speech but at the same time I feel like his fans rather see a video package of him than two people talking that they don’t know.”

The Legacy Wing has often been used to honor legendary figures from earlier eras of wrestling history, usually through video tributes rather than speeches on stage. While some fans may have hoped to hear personal memories from Sid’s family, it appears WWE will honor him with a video presentation instead.

Sid Vicious remains one of wrestling’s most memorable figures, known for his imposing presence and major runs in both WWE and WCW during the height of the industry’s popularity. His induction into the Hall of Fame adds another milestone to WrestleMania 42 weekend, which is already shaping up to feature multiple emotional moments.

Even without a live speech, Sid’s place in the Hall of Fame still marks a major moment for his legacy and the fans who followed his career for years. With his family set to be in attendance, the spotlight will likely fall on the memories and moments that made him one of wrestling’s most unforgettable figures.

Do you think Sid Vicious should have received a full Hall of Fame speech, or is a Legacy Wing video tribute the right way to honor him? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
