Shotzi isn’t shy about her motivations—and she’s not here to play nice.

In a recent Muscle Memory interview filmed backstage at House of Glory, the former WWE standout revealed exactly why Matt Cardona became one of her main targets after she returned to the indie scene. And it wasn’t random. Shotzi admitted she studied the landscape as soon as she left WWE. Certain names stood out, and Matt Cardona was one of them.

“Like I said with Indi, I came back to the indie scene and I saw Matt Cardona. He was also on that list of people I was looking at when I came back and I was like, I want to do what they’re doing.”

But it wasn’t just admiration. Shotzi saw Cardona’s relentless hustle, and rather than fall in line behind him, she set her sights on replacing him.

“He works nonstop. Like I don’t think that guy ever has a second to breathe or eat. He just goes, goes, goes, goes, goes. And that’s what I want to be. I want to be everywhere. I want to be on every platform. I want to be promoting myself. And Matt Cardona is always doing that. So I want to take his spot. I want to steal from him.”

It’s not personal—it’s professional. Shotzi made it clear this is about legacy and presence. And if that means going after the current “indie king,” so be it. Shotzi’s focus is sharper than ever, and she’s not slowing down for anyone.

Do you think Shotzi has what it takes to dethrone Matt Cardona as the face of indie wrestling? Drop your thoughts in the comments—who should she target next?
