Shotzi Blackheart’s latest injury might be part of the show—but that hasn’t stopped her from turning heads with it.
Just one day after Matt Cardona’s violent ambush on June 24, which saw him attack Shotzi with a steel chair, steal her trademark tank, and literally run over her arm, Shotzi took to Instagram to confirm her arm is broken. Whether it’s legit or just part of their brewing rivalry is up for debate—but either way, the message was loud and clear.
“Got my X-ray results back. My arm is broken, but I refuse to cancel any of my bookings, ESPECIALLY July 11th @gamechangerwrestling. I would rather wrestle in a cast than let @themattcardona take anything away from me!! THE NEW INDY GOD has spoken!”
This all comes after tensions boiled over between Shotzi and Cardona, with Cardona proudly bragging about the assault online:
“I just ran over Shotzi’s arm with her own tank. You’ve been served!!! I AM THE REAL INDY GOD & DEATHMATCH KING! Big thanks to my Process Server!”
Shotzi wasn’t letting that slide, making it clear she wanted their July 11 showdown to be as violent as possible:
“I’m waiting to get X-rays and this idiot posts proof of his assault on me. Brett Lauderdale: July 11th better be a DEATHMATCH!!!!”
Since leaving WWE, Shotzi has thrown herself headfirst into the independent scene, adopting the “Indy God” moniker—a title that’s clearly ruffled Cardona’s feathers. Their war of words and violent run-ins are all leading to a massive clash at GCW on July 11, cast or no cast.
Do you think Shotzi’s injury is all part of the story, or did Cardona go too far? Either way, should their match officially be made a deathmatch? Drop your take in the comments.
