Shotzi Blackheart isn’t wasting time plotting her next move after being released by WWE, and now the green-haired brawler is set to make her return to the ring.
During MLW Azteca Lucha over the weekend, a chilling promo aired, hyping up Shotzi’s arrival at Summer of the Beasts on June 26 at NYC’s Melrose Ballroom.
The ominous vignette featured a tank — Shotzi’s signature ride — with the words, “June 26. Hearts Turn Black. The Warning SHOTZ Will Be Fired.” The message couldn’t be clearer: Shotzi’s ready to bring her wild, unpredictable style to Major League Wrestling.
This comes just days after Shotzi was spotted training in Natalya’s famed dungeon, a venue known for producing top-tier wrestling talent. Natalya shared footage of Shotzi working out in the dungeon on May 8, fueling speculation that Shotzi was preparing for a major comeback. With the MLW promo now airing, it seems the speculation was well-founded.
During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Shotzi opened up about her WWE release, admitting she didn’t see it coming but now feels a sense of relief. “Honestly, I didn’t expect this, but I just feel so free and I feel like this weight is lifted off me,” she said. “I’m excited to get to work, since I’ve been sitting at home for what feels like the last two years.”
Shotzi’s WWE run came to a sudden end after the company opted not to renew her contract, a move that shocked many fans given her popularity and unique persona. Known for her tank-riding, punk rock style, Shotzi was a standout in NXT before moving to the main roster, where her push stalled amid creative changes.
Now, with her MLW debut seemingly set, Shotzi has a chance to reinvent herself and remind the wrestling world why she was one of NXT’s most talked-about stars. With a tagline like “Hearts Turn Black,” it’s clear she’s bringing a darker, more intense persona to MLW.
