Shotzi Blackheart has been keeping herself busy ever since she was released by WWE last year. However, some fans do wonder if she’ll ever come back again and now Blackheart has explained why she would be apprehensive about returning to WWE.

While speaking on Podcast Heat Wrestling, Shotzi Blackheart talked about how important creative freedom is to her as a wrestler. She said that if WWE contacted her, she would be apprehensive about returning.

The reason is that she doesn’t want to go through the same thing she experienced before, being used on TV for a few weeks and then being taken off for months. She said she doesn’t want to live like that anymore.

“Yeah, the creative freedom is the big thing. Like, if WWE were to hit me up, I’d be apprehensive going back. Just because I feel like I’d be stuck in the same spot I was just in — not being used. I would be on TV for 3 weeks, then off for 4 months, on for 2 weeks, off for 2 months. I don’t wanna live like that.”

Blackheart compared that to AEW, where wrestlers have a lot more freedom. She noted that in AEW, even if you’re not on TV, you can still wrestle on the indie scene, work on other projects like movies or music, and just stay active. Blackheart said she really likes that.

Blackheart said if she weren’t being used on AEW, it wouldn’t be a big deal since she’d just book more indie shows. And if she was busy on TV, she’d focus on that. To her, there’s no downside to signing with AEW because of the freedom they give their wrestlers. That freedom is something she really thinks about when choosing between WWE and AEW.

“But with AEW, not only do they have creative freedom with their character and storylines, they also have the freedom to—if they’re not on TV—they get to work the indies. They get to do other things, do other projects like be in movies or start a band. I love that. Even if I wasn’t being used on AEW, it’d be no sweat. I’d just book more stuff on the indies. If I was busy on TV, I’d focus on television. So there is no risk to signing with AEW. I think that’s also a big thing when I think about signing back with WWE or signing with AEW—the absolute freedom.”

Shotzi Blackheart also admitted that “hot girls making out” is another reason why she wants to join AEW. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for Blackheart, as it’s clear she is focused on building up her brand before anything else.

Should Shotzi Blackheart return to WWE, or would AEW be a better fit for her personality and style? Sound off in the comments.
