Shayna Baszler Returns During 9/16 NXT Homecoming

NXT Homecoming was a can’t miss event.

WWE NXT’s September 16 episode was a very special one. NXT held a Homecoming special, marking its first event at Full Sail Arena in more than 2,000 days. The night also included a return that surprised some fans.

Sol Ruca and Zaria have been going through a very interesting storyline in recent memory. The tag team have been bickering a bit, but someone was around Homecoming to lend a little advice to them.

Shayna Baszler showed up backstage during a segment to speak with Sol Ruca and Zaria. The Queen of Spades advised the team that she’s been through her share of partnerships, and she knows a good thing when she sees it.

The former NXT Women’s Champion went on to say that Sol Ruca and Zaria need to patch up whatever their issues are and get things back on track. These are wise words coming from Baszler, and it is also great to see her.

As you know, Shayna Baszler was released by WWE in May 2025. She publicly confirmed the release in August 2025 after signing a contract extension earlier in the year but not being used in storylines. She is currently a free agent, but she was quietly working behind the scenes in NXT for a while. We will have to see what happens next for her career.
