Shawn Michaels is widely regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers in WWE history. While he has mostly stayed retired from in-ring competition, a former WWE star has claimed that Michaels told him that he still has a couple of matches left in him.

During a Q&A at For The Love of Wrestling, former WWE star Fandango shared his dream match. He revealed that Shawn Michaels told him he might have one or two matches left in him during his NXT appearance earlier this month.

Although the possibility of the match happening remains uncertain, Fandango sees Shawn Michaels as his ultimate opponent, given that he was the reason he got into wrestling.

“You know who I talked to at NXT last week, who said he’s got one or two matches left in him? Shawn Michaels. Yeah, and that’s a guy, he’s the reason why I got into the business. So honestly, it’d probably never happen, but that would be my dream match.”

Shawn Michaels retired from wrestling in 2010 after losing a match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. However, eight-and-a-half years later, he made a comeback to team with Triple H against Kane and The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia. That turned out to be HBK’s final match for good, as he is now busy managing NXT.

Even the likes of Kevin Owens tried to bring Shawn Michaels out of retirement and Michaels ended up hitting a Sweet Chin music in Owens last month as well. While there is no official confirmation of a return, Fandango’s comments have created excitement among fans. If Shawn Michaels does wrestle again, it would be one of the biggest comebacks in WWE history, though nothing is certain yet.
