Shawn Michaels has never shied away from talking about the toll wrestling took on his body, but now at 60 years old, he’s preparing for yet another major procedure. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that both of his knees are scheduled to be replaced in the coming month — and he’s at peace with it.
On Nightcap with Unc & Ocho, Michaels was asked if he’d still wrestle knowing what he knows now about injuries and concussions. His answer was as direct as it gets.
“Hell yes. I have had my back fused. I’ve had my shoulder replaced. I got two knees that I’m getting replaced in probably a month. And I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.”
Michaels added that the relentless WWE schedule contributed to the wear and tear, with nearly year-round shows pushing his body to the limit.
“When I worked on the road, we did 286 days. When I got a part-time schedule, it was 150 days. And I enjoyed every minute. I was fortunate, especially later in my career, to have a wife and children that understood that. They still support me now.”
Even with another surgery on the horizon, Michaels says the sacrifices were worth every second. For him, wrestling wasn’t just a career — it was a calling, and the passion outweighed the pain.
Shawn Michaels’ upcoming knee replacements are another reminder of what wrestlers put their bodies through for the fans, and his attitude shows why he remains one of the most respected names in WWE history.
