Shawn Michaels might not be done after all. The WWE Hall of Famer, who officially retired in 2010 after losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26, has apparently hinted that he still has something left in the tank.

During a recent Q&A at For The Love of Wrestling, rising star JDC revealed that he had a conversation with HBK at NXT, where the legend dropped a bombshell.

“You know who I talked to [at NXT] last week, who said he’s got one or two matches left in him? Shawn Michaels,” JDC claimed. “Yeah, and that’s a guy—he’s the reason why I got into the business. So honestly, it’d probably never happen, but that would be my dream match.”

Michaels has been adamant for years that his in-ring career is over, only breaking that promise once in 2018 for a one-off DX reunion against The Undertaker and Kane at Crown Jewel. Since then, he has focused on his backstage role in NXT, helping shape the next generation of WWE stars.

While fans would love to see The Heartbreak Kid return for one final classic, Michaels hasn’t given any serious indication that a comeback is in the works. However, he did admit in 2024 that if he were 20 years younger, he would want to face Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, or Logan Paul.

Kevin Owens has also revealed that he asks Michaels every year around WrestleMania season if he would come back for one more match, but so far, HBK has always said no.

With WrestleMania season in full swing, is there a chance Mr. WrestleMania steps back into the ring one more time? Or is this just wishful thinking? Drop your thoughts below!
