Shane McMahon was the subject of a lot of discussion after Tony Khan and McMahon had a private meeting near Arlington Airport last year. While nothing really came of it, Shane McMahon has now addressed the possibility of joining AEW.

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Shane McMahon was asked whether there was any chance he would join AEW. He responded by saying he had a meeting with the company and wished them continued success, but made it clear that AEW isn’t WWE, the company he helped build.

While Shane-O-Mac didn’t completely rule anything out, he made it clear that it’s not the same, though anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling right now.

“Um, had a meeting with AEW and wish them, you know, continued success or whatever, but it’s not WWE. It’s not the company I helped build. Uh, but you never know what’s going to happen in this business.”

This comes after it was alleged that Tony Khan had actually ghosted Shane McMahon after their meeting. However, there was more to this story than anyone had initially thought.

As reported earlier, Tony Khan didn’t try to continue any talks with Shane McMahon after their meeting. Shane was interested in helping run things in AEW, but he didn’t know enough about the company or how it works. Even though AEW didn’t respond, Shane didn’t take it the wrong way and understood that nothing was going to come from the meeting.

Therefore, we will have to wait and see if Shane McMahon does end up making his way to AEW since he did leave the door open. After all, his presence could definitely make things interesting in AEW, but there’s no guarantee of that happening.
