Seth Rollins faked his knee injury as he pulled off the “Ruse of the Century” at SummerSlam. However, it appears this actually upset quite a few people backstage in WWE.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, this situation has led to some unhappiness within WWE. He noted that WWE can choose to mislead people if they want, and it seems that during the Seth Rollins situation, many behind-the-scenes staff and in-ring performers were left with a bad feeling about how it was handled.

“I want to caution everybody, obviously WWE can lie to anybody they want. They certainly lie to a lot of people. It would appear during the Seth Rollins situation, much of which has left a very unhealthy flavour in the mouths of a lot of people who work behind the scenes for the company, as well as talents who are in-ring performers.”

This comes after Seth Rollins already explained how he took extreme measures to pull off his injury ruse before the SummerSlam Premium Live Event, where he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on CM Punk to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Seth Rollins also revealed that Becky Lynch was upset over having to lie about his injury to all of her friends and family. Nonetheless, Rollins truly managed to fool everyone in the wrestling world but it left a bad taste in people’s mouths in WWE and it’s not hard to see why that’s the case now.

What do you think? Was Seth Rollins’ injury hoax worth the backlash it caused backstage, or did WWE take the secrecy too far? Sound off in the comments.
