Many WWE fans know that Seth Rollins will frequently post “I hate football” or “I love football” depending on how the Chicago Bears’ game turns out. On Christmas Day, he’s preparing to set out on a new venture during his injury hiatus, as he will be a part of history once again.

Seth Rollins has never been one to limit himself to one lane. While he is very committed to WWE for as long as possible, Rollins is also carving out a growing role in sports media, balancing both worlds without seeing a reason to choose between them.

The Visionary is a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, and he has joined NFL Network’s Good Morning Football this season as a regular guest host. He is also set to appear on Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL pre-game coverage.

While speaking with Bleacher Report, Rollins said he enjoys being able to pursue those opportunities while still maintaining his place in WWE, and he wants to continue doing both for the foreseeable future.

“I wanna do it all. I don’t see any reason why I can’t. Who says I can’t do both? I love WWE and I wanna be a part of it for as long as I can, as long as they’ll have me, whether that’s in ring or behind the scenes. And I love talking about football, so if I can continue to kind of create my own space in that world and people will have me, I’d love to be there and talk about it. It’s a great thing to be able to do both, I’m super lucky. When I’m done, I wanna be in the booth calling a Bears game and then I wanna be calling the shots in Gorilla in WWE. So, let’s do it all.”

At 39 years old, Seth Rollins knows that his wrestling career has passed its midpoint, but he said he has not spent much time thinking about when he wants to step away from the ring. He believes he still has plenty left to give as an in-ring performer.

Rollins explained that the timing of his injury and his increased NFL media work ended up aligning in an unexpected way. This allowed him to focus more fully on his broadcasting role without altering his long-term plans.

“This thing with the NFL and my injury, it was a happy coincidence. We were gonna do this no matter what. If I was still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, I was still gonna be a broadcaster on Good Morning Football weekly. I was still gonna do the Christmas Day game either way, so it’s nice that I can kind of put most of my focus on this pot a little bit. Obviously, if I was doing both, it would’ve been a little more difficult because I would’ve had to split it, but I love both. I love professional wrestling and I love professional football.”

Netflix will broadcast the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings game at 4:30 p.m. Eastern on Christmas Day. The pre-game coverage will start at 4 p.m., where Rollins is scheduled to appear. We will have to see what he says, but he will probably take to that gig like a duck to water.

Only time will tell what kind of momentum Seth Rollins has once he returns. His injury hiatus was not timed very well at all, but he’s certainly making the most of his time in recovery.
