Seth Rollins is ready for one last showdown with John Cena—and this time, he’s not hiding his true goal.
During a conversation with ET Now, Rollins made it crystal clear: he wants to square up with Cena before the legend calls it a career… and he wouldn’t mind busting his nose again in the process.
The topic came up as the conversation turned to acting and Cena’s transition into Hollywood. Rollins praised his longtime mentor and friend, calling him “the best man” and revealing their ongoing group chat centered around coffee.
“The best man. Yeah, he’s on the coffee thread. We got a coffee thread right now — me, him, and another good friend of ours, Claudio Castagnoli.”
Rollins admitted acting may not be for him, but Cena’s legacy continues to inspire him beyond the ring.
“You know what, John’s got his own path. I don’t know that acting’s my thing. But John’s got his own path, and he inspires me with his work ethic and his compassion and his friendship… just having a group chat about coffee, you know what I mean, with John Cena — real stuff.”
He didn’t hold back when asked about Cena’s farewell WWE run either.
“He’s in his final year with us in WWE. He’s having his last run, and he’s making every single pound. He’s there all the time. He’s doing all the pay-per-views. He’s defending the championship. Like, he loves this industry. And he’s always led by example — as long as I’ve been, you know, kind of under his tutelage, looking up to him and seeing the way he conducts himself as a performer, but as a man, as a friend — I mean, he’s just an all-around great guy.”
But when the interviewer asked if Rollins wanted one final match with Cena before retirement, things took a sharp—and very specific—turn.
“I would love to face off with him one more time. Get another chance to break his big old nose.”
That wasn’t just trash talk. Rollins famously broke Cena’s nose during a 2015 match on Monday Night RAW with a brutal knee strike to the face. The moment was replayed endlessly, with Cena continuing the match despite the obvious and painful injury. It instantly became one of the most brutal visuals in modern WWE history.
Rollins didn’t exactly walk that comment back either. With a grin, he added:
“All right. I’d love to get one in before he hangs it back — before the swan song. Yeah, we’ll see how it goes.”
If WWE is planning Cena’s final chapter, don’t be shocked if Seth Rollins is penciled in as the final boss. And if Rollins has his way, he just might deliver another “souvenir” shot to Cena’s face before the curtain drops.
