Seth Rollins wanted to keep LA Knight in the dark about his staged injury during their Saturday Night’s Main Event match in July 2025—but Triple H wasn’t having it.

On the January 20, 2026 episode of WWE Unreal Season 2, Triple H revealed that Rollins initially didn’t want Knight to know the injury was fake, even though it was part of an elaborate plan to set up his shocking return at SummerSlam to cash in on CM Punk. Rollins questioned, “Why does LA Knight need to know? I don’t feel like he needs to know.”

Triple H explained he couldn’t allow that level of deception to slide between performers, telling Rollins that if the roles were reversed, he’d be furious.

“I said, ‘Seth, if the roles were reversed and I didn’t tell you, you would be out of your mind pissed at me. You’re a professional, and when you’re in the ring your first thought is to make sure your opponent doesn’t get hurt,” Triple H told him. “So what if he gets hurt on your watch and you find out later that it’s all bulls***?”

Rollins ultimately saw Triple H’s point and replied, “Fair enough,” after a brief pause. In the end, this added a new twist to what was already one of WWE’s most dramatic fake-outs of 2025. It also showed just how far WWE is willing to go to protect a storyline—even if it means debating who’s in on the con.

Do you think Seth Rollins was wrong to want to keep LA Knight in the dark? Or should protecting the story come first? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
