Seth Rollins faked his knee injury as he pulled off the “Ruse of the Century” at SummerSlam. A few days after the incident, the Visionary revealed how he went above and beyond to fool everyone about his injury.

While speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Seth Rollins revealed how committed he was to faking his injury, going above and beyond to sell the story. Rollins said using crutches for three weeks was really hard.

Even though he was in pain, he kept acting like he was hurt to make the story believable. He did everything on crutches; went to the gym, took his daughter to the beach and preschool, and even went out to dinner with his wife and friends, Bianca Belair and Montez Ford.

“Limping around on these crutches for three weeks was painful. Because not only did I do your show for a few days, I went to the gym on the crutches, I took my daughter down to the beach on the crutches, dropped her off at preschool, I went to a nice steak dinner with my wife, with Bianca Belair and Montez Ford—on crutches. I did it all on crutches, and I’ll tell you, it was excruciating.”

The Visionary said the crutches hurt his shoulders and made him wonder if he might actually get a real injury. He even thought he might need to see a real doctor in Birmingham. It made him grumpy, but his wife stayed patient and they got through it together, all to make the story feel real.

“The crutches alone were painful. I thought I was going to get a shoulder injury—a real one. I was wondering if I had to go to Birmingham legit. It was a big task. I was getting irritable, my wife was putting up with me being grumpy, but we pulled through for the greater good.”

Seth Rollins also revealed that Becky Lynch was upset over having to lie about his injury to all of her friends and family. Nonetheless, Rollins truly managed to fool everyone in the wrestling world and now that he’s the WWE World Champion, it’s safe to say all of his hard work paid off better than expected.
