Seth Rollins is eyeing a big comeback—and he’s got WrestleMania 42 in his sights.
After suffering a shoulder injury during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2025, Rollins was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship. Since then, fans have been waiting to hear when “The Visionary” might return to action—and now, we’ve got the clearest update yet.
Speaking on The Sal Licata Show, Rollins revealed that while he’s doing everything possible in rehab, the decision to return in time for WrestleMania 42 isn’t his to make:
“Ultimately the decision is not up to me. I do everything that they put in front of me, try to hit all of my markers as far as rehabilitation is concerned, get myself ready.”
“I think anytime you’re in our profession WrestleMania is the main goal, so yeah, I’m eyeballing WrestleMania, I’d love to be involved in some capacity, but at the end of the day I don’t make that final call.”
And it all comes down to medical clearance:
“The doctor’s gotta make that decision and let me know if I’m good enough to do that, if the timeline fits we’ll see.”
Rollins has headlined Night One of WrestleMania for the last two years—first in 2024, teaming with Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns and The Rock, and then in 2025, winning a three-way against CM Punk and Reigns. His absence from this year’s card would be massive—but his presence could be even bigger.
Will the timeline fit? And if Rollins gets cleared, could we see him come face-to-face with CM Punk once again? Only time will tell.
