Seth Rollins has been one of WWE’s top stars for over a decade, but even The Visionary is starting to think about life after wrestling.
In a recent interview with WFAN, Rollins admitted that retirement isn’t as far off as some might think—he’s eyeing 45 as the age to hang up his boots.
“I’ll be 39 in May. You know, 45 maybe really sounds alright to me, I think. It’s kind of going to depend on what I do in the next few years as far as outside of WWE or behind the scenes in WWE,” Rollins said.
Rollins made it clear that when his in-ring days are over, he doesn’t plan on sticking around as an on-air character. Instead, he wants to help shape the future of the business from behind the scenes.
“I think I’m more behind-the-scenes guy when it’s time for me to finish up. Like I’d like to be on the other side of it. I don’t want to be like a character in front of it anymore,” Rollins explained. “Once I’m done in the ring, like let me go back, let me help, you know, the business. Let me help the young guys and girls, let me do something like that… Yeah, maybe something in the creative department. We’ll see.”
Rollins has already had a hand in shaping the next generation. He co-owns the Black & Brave Wrestling Academy, where current NXT Tag Team Champion Nathan Frazer trained before making his way to WWE.
While 45 may seem like a long way off, Rollins is already thinking about what’s next. Will WWE fans get six more years of The Visionary, or could he call it quits even sooner? Let us know what you think in the comments!
