Seth Rollins paid tribute to a fallen friend in the most subtle—but powerful—way possible on SmackDown, and fans who caught it knew exactly what it meant.

During the April 4 episode of SmackDown, Rollins was seen wearing a pair of shoes that Bray Wyatt—real name Windham Rotunda—used to wear during his time in WWE. While it wasn’t mentioned on commentary, longtime fans immediately noticed the nod, and it didn’t go unnoticed online.

Wyatt passed away on August 24, 2023, after suffering a heart attack. He was just 36 years old. Nearly two years later, his absence still weighs heavily on the locker room—and especially on those who came up alongside him.

Rollins and Wyatt shared a strong bond behind the scenes. They came up through WWE together and spent years working with and against each other in some of the company’s most creative storylines. Following Wyatt’s passing, Rollins appeared on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals and opened up about the loss.

“Our little world that we live in is so small in a lot of regards, it really does feel like a family often,” Rollins said. “And Windham was someone that I loved and worked with very closely for many years. We came up in the business together, and I was very close with him, and it was a huge shock that he had passed and left; it still doesn’t feel real!”

With August 24, 2025 marking two years since Wyatt’s death, it’s clear his memory still lives on—not just in tributes and interviews, but in the quiet details that speak volumes.
