Seth Rollins has been a cornerstone of WWE for over a decade, but even The Visionary knows his time in the ring won’t last forever. Rollins recently opened up about his future during an appearance on Nightcap, sharing how much longer he’s signed with WWE and hinting at when retirement could come.

Rollins reflected on his two-decade-long career, admitting that the grind of wrestling has taken a toll on his body but also noting how today’s generation benefits from better training and recovery methods.

“I’ve been at it for 22 years now. I started in 2003 and have wrestled over 2,000 matches. And you’re right—it takes its toll. Fortunately, I think our generation has a lot more information available to us about prehab, rehab, recovery, and what it takes to keep ourselves in shape athletically. So we have an advantage there.”

At nearly 40 years old, Rollins explained why sports entertainment gives wrestlers a longer shelf life compared to traditional athletes.

“I’m almost 40 years old right now. Like I said, I’ve been doing this for 22 years. The nice thing about our industry is that it’s entertainment, so you can do this a bit longer than your body might normally allow. The older you get, the smarter you get, and the more equity you have with the audience, which buys you a little extra time.”

While he isn’t sure about wrestling into his 50s, Rollins confirmed he has just a couple of years left on his current WWE deal. Family also plays a big factor in what comes next for him.

“Who knows? I don’t know if I want to do this into my 50s. I have a couple of years left on my WWE contract, but my daughter is four and a half—almost five—and I wouldn’t mind spending more time with her in a few years. So, we’ll see what happens.”

Rollins’ comments leave fans wondering how much longer they’ll get to see him perform at the highest level before he shifts his focus to family life.
