WWE fans hoping for one more reunion of The Shield might want to brace themselves—Seth Rollins just made it clear that the odds aren’t looking good.
While speaking in a new interview with GQ, Rollins was asked directly whether he thought The Shield would ever get back together. His answer didn’t leave much room for optimism.
“Well, not a lot of love loss between myself and Roman Reigns. Dean Ambrose — Jon Moxley — not currently with the company, don’t know if he’s ever coming back. I would say chances are very slim. Maybe one day there’ll be a Hall of Fame induction where all three of us will be in the same place at the same time.”
Rollins even joked that someone else might have a better shot at rocking the flak vest alongside him again—referencing Kurt Angle’s 2017 fill-in appearance with The Shield.
“I would say we’re looking at like a real, real… maybe Kurt Angle has a better chance of…”
This update comes after years of speculation about the real-life bond between Rollins, Reigns, and Moxley. While storyline tension has defined their onscreen interactions, especially between Rollins and Reigns, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp previously reported in a Twitter Space that “Seth is really loyal to Mox and Reigns. They are legitimately always close.”
But despite any lingering off-screen loyalty, it’s clear that a full-blown Shield reunion is not on the cards—at least not anytime soon.
