Chelsea Green made headlines when she won the Women’s United States Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event last year. However, it appears WWE ended up scrapping plans for her to win the title at Survivor Series.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Chelsea Green talked about how she was originally supposed to win the Women’s US Championship at Survivor Series, which was set to take place on the West Coast of Canada.

Green mentioned buying a lot of tickets for the event, since around 30 of her friends and family were planning to attend. That included all of her bridesmaids, about 12 in total, their partners, their kids, her entire family, and even her mom’s friends. She wasn’t sure exactly when the plans changed, but she found out about a week before the show.

“I was supposed to win it at Survivor Series in Canada, not only in Canada, on the West Coast. And do you know how many tickets I bought for that show? Oh, well, that’s a whole other conversation. But keep in mind when I say bought tickets, I had like 30 friends and family there. I had every bridesmaid and I had like 12 bridesmaids. I had every bridesmaid there, all of their partners. I had their babies there. I had all of my family, my mom’s friends, and everyone was there. I don’t know when the plans changed, but when I found out was probably a week before.”

As for the finals, she said things always change in wrestling. She stated that saying something wrong on social media could cost her the win, or that Michin could have won the title instead and she’d have to chase it, which would have been fun too.

Green knew the finals were happening and expected to be part of them. Everyone was at the event and loved the show, but she wasn’t on it. Instead, she was watching from a suite with her sister and Michael Bublé.

“The finals—I mean, things always change. I could say something stupid on social media and not even win it. Or Michin could have won it and had me chase it, and that would be fun too. But I knew the finals were gonna be there, and I was gonna be in the finals. Everyone was there, everyone loved the show, but I wasn’t on the show. I was watching from a box with Michael Bublé and my sister.”

Even with all the planning and personal emotions involved, nothing is certain until the final bell rings. Chelsea Green may have missed out on a fairytale title win in front of her hometown crowd, but she’s still the champion right now, and that’s all that matters to her.
