Scott Steiner has never been one to hold back — and that includes when it comes to family. The WWE Hall of Famer recently opened up about the first piece of advice he gave his nephew, WWE star Bron Breakker, and it’s probably not what fans expected to hear.
During a recent appearance at Geek’d Con, Steiner admitted that when Breakker first showed interest in becoming a pro wrestler, his advice was simple: don’t do it.
“The first advice I gave him was don’t get into wrestling. But that was before AEW started up. So it’s actually – it’s always better to have two companies, otherwise it’s a monopoly and it’s not good for the wrestlers.”
Thankfully, Breakker didn’t take that advice. The powerhouse has since become one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars, recently turning heads with his heel turn on Seth Rollins on Monday Night RAW. Steiner said he’s incredibly proud of how quickly his nephew has adapted to the business — something he credits to Bron’s early exposure to his work.
“So, but no man he’s skyrocketed. He just picked up everything so fast, mainly because you know, when he was little, 10, 11 years old, he’d always watch my stuff. Then he’d ride his bike over to my house and do my interviews on myself. So I think that’s one of the reasons why he’s ahead of the game right now.”
Steiner also mentioned that he continues to guide Breakker whenever possible, offering feedback when needed.
“But, yeah, I just, when he calls for advice or, you know, he’ll do something wrong, like I’ll, you know, give him a call, try to help him out.”
Scott Steiner’s old-school mindset and Bron Breakker’s modern aggression make for one of wrestling’s most interesting family dynamics — and it’s paying off in a big way for the next generation of the Steiner legacy.
