Scorpio Sky kept it respectful—but it still wasn’t enough to avoid some serious backstage heat.

On the debut episode of Creating Character: The Re-Debut, the AEW veteran opened up about the fallout from his much-discussed sit-down with Chris Van Vliet, revealing that despite going out of his way to protect the company, someone behind the scenes still took issue with what he said.

“I didn’t lie when I was on the show,” Sky said about the interview. “But I definitely went out of my way to not make the company look bad, you know? I really obviously wanted to preserve a relationship that had been built over a number of years, and so I didn’t want to say anything that would like poison that relationship.”

Turns out, being diplomatic didn’t shield him from backlash. “Come to find out, I think someone there still maybe had a few issues with some of the things I did say,” he admitted. “So now I’m like, screw it. I’m gonna say whatever the hell I want now.”

The former TNT Champion didn’t name names, but his frustration came through loud and clear. What was supposed to be a carefully worded appearance meant to maintain goodwill may have ended up costing him more than expected.

Sky made it clear he’s not interested in burning bridges—but if someone’s already holding a grudge, he’s not going to keep quiet anymore.
