Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s time in WWE came to an end, but she’s now speaking out against WWE for how they treated her. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Scarlett has now claimed that WWE tried to erase her from segments with Kross.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Scarlett revealed that WWE had taken her off television for about three months while Karrion Kross continued doing backstage segments. She said that during the European tour, something strange happened that made her question the company’s intentions.

“You [Karrion] were doing backstages. They had basically taken me off TV for three months. Yeah, essentially. And then something very strange happened on the European tour. Do you remember that?”

According to Scarlett, several people backstage, including AJ Styles and The Miz, regularly supported them and pushed for her involvement. Each week, Kross would ask why Scarlett wasn’t included in his segments, but the response was always, “Not this week.”

Eventually, AJ Styles intervened, saying it didn’t make sense for her to be excluded, and went to the office to get approval for her to appear. After filming the segment, one of the producers approached Scarlett and asked how she “snuck herself in,” which made her realize discussions were happening behind the scenes to remove her from TV.

“So there were a few people in the locker room that would always fight for us — AJ Styles was one of them. AJ would always fight for us. Miz would always fight for us — great people. So every single time he had to do a backstage, because I know some people noticed, ‘Why isn’t Scarlett in this?’ Every single week, Kross would ask, ‘Why isn’t Scarlett written into this? She can just be there.’ They said, ‘Oh no, not this week, not this week.’

So a few months went by — AJ is supposed to be in this backstage with us, and he’s like, ‘Doesn’t make sense that you’re not in this.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, that’s what I thought too. But every week they said no.’ AJ went to the office, got approval that I could be in it. Later on, we shot that, and one of the producers comes up to me and says, ‘How did you sneak yourself in there?’”

Kross confirmed the situation and said it was frustrating to see Scarlett disappear from storylines, especially when she was often nearby but left out intentionally.

Kross: “I remember that — we were pissed.

Scarlett: I’m like, so this has been something that’s been talked about — to remove me.”

Scarlett admitted it was the only time in her WWE career she truly felt that the company might be trying to phase her out and only keep Kross.

“I’m like, is this intentional? That was the only time in my WWE career when I was like — I feel like they could be trying to get rid of me and only keep you. It’s the only time I felt that way.”

That’s not the end of it as Scarlett has also called out WWE for misogynistic treatment during contract negotiations. Regardless, Scarlett’s case has started discussions about how women are treated in major wrestling companies and whether they are given the same respect and opportunities as men behind the scenes. So now fans just hope if Scarlett does go back to WWE, she’ll be treated better.
