Karrion Kross recently revealed a behind-the-scenes moment where his wife, Scarlett, received a rare standing ovation backstage after a match in September 2024.

During his May 29, 2025 interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Kross spoke about how Scarlett’s performance during a mixed tag team match earned her recognition from WWE personnel, and how it was a key moment in her career.

Kross recounted the match that took place on September 28, 2024, at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia. In the match, Kross and Scarlett faced off against Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, who were collectively known as “The Terror Twins.” He recalled how the match became the talk of the show, with Scarlett receiving a standing ovation from the WWE crew backstage.

“Well, I will tell you this. On a house show, Scarlett and I got a last-minute notice that we could potentially be working Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. We were over the moon about it.”

Kross then shared how Scarlett’s performance left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

“So, we wound up working them that weekend, and it was the talk of the show. And Scarlett got a standing ovation in Gorilla both nights when she walked through that curtain.”

He emphasized how Scarlett’s match against Rhea Ripley was especially impressive, despite the lack of a build-up or storyline leading into the encounter.

“She had really, really, really good matches with Rhea. I know things are very story-driven—that may seem like a random match for people because there’s no buildup—but Scarlett against Rhea would be an excellent match. It would blow people away. I’m—I guarantee it.”

Kross, with over a decade of experience in the wrestling business, understands the significance of such recognition backstage.

“I’ve been in this business for 11 years. Getting a standing ovation in Gorilla? That means something.”

Reflecting on Scarlett’s potential, Kross explained how this recognition solidified her growing status in WWE, showcasing her talent and skill even in the absence of a major storyline.

Kross also shared a bit of fantasy booking, mentioning a dream match he’d love to see for Scarlett. “If we’re talking super fantasy booking, I have always wanted to see Scarlett versus Trish Stratus.” He believes such a match would be a huge draw, with both women bringing their unique in-ring styles to the table.
