Saraya isn’t holding back anymore—especially when it comes to her own performance.
During a raw discussion on the Unwrapped podcast, the former WWE Divas Champion opened up about her 2025 run in AEW and admitted something fans might not expect: she didn’t try as hard as she should have. After making her wrestling return in AEW following years away due to injury, Saraya said fear held her back. She revealed she was mentally stuck in a place where the possibility of getting hurt again kept her from committing fully to her matches and progress.
“I came back in and when it come to wrestling there I wish I tried a little bit harder because I went in there and I was still in my head that I might get hurt again, you know, so I wasn’t really giving it my all — and I kind of got like more lazy — and I kind of regret it, ’cause I should have, like, you know, had time to progress and I wasn’t.”
That moment of self-reflection led to a major reset. Saraya explained that she made a conscious choice to step away for the rest of 2025—not because she was done, but because she wanted to fall in love with wrestling again. Now, she’s motivated to get back in the ring and do it right.
“So now, like, I was like, okay — I’m going to take this year out of wrestling, find my passion for it again because I lost my passion for it. And now I’m just like, oh my God, I’m yearning for getting back in the wrestling ring.”
Saraya’s honest look in the mirror is something many fans didn’t expect—but it shows she’s not done just yet. If anything, she’s just getting started again, with a new hunger that might make her next chapter her best yet.
