AEW star Saraya isn’t letting her past define her—and she sure isn’t afraid to laugh about it either.
The former WWE Divas Champion opened up like never before during her appearance on the Rule Breakers podcast with comedian Zach Zimmerman. When the conversation drifted toward sex tapes and internet exposure, Saraya didn’t dodge the elephant in the room—instead, she went straight for it with brutal honesty and humor.
As Zach discussed his own experience with a sex tape he made with an ex, Saraya jumped in to acknowledge the very public and painful chapter of her life that made headlines years ago when explicit footage of her was leaked online. “Well, you know, I… you know, everyone knows this. I did have some leaks of me sexually online.”
Zach quickly reassured her with a respectful response, explaining that he never watched the footage: “I heard you didn’t want people to watch them, so I didn’t watch them.”
Saraya appreciated the sentiment, but couldn’t resist poking fun at the situation with a deadpan joke: “Oh, thank you” and Zach joked, You’re welcome. But I sent them to nine of my friends who described it to me. No, I’m just kidding.”
The tone turned a bit more serious—and frustrated—when Saraya revealed just how often people still bring it up, even after all these years. Despite having rebuilt her career and found success in AEW, some fans just can’t let it go.
“People send me these clips all the time still. I’m like, ‘Get the f** over it.’”*
And in true Saraya fashion, she even took a shot at herself, critiquing her own performance in the leaked video: “But when I see it, I’m just like, ‘Oh god, Ry, what are you doing?’”
Not stopping there, she pointed out how outdated the footage looks—joking about the technology used at the time, as if it were a relic from another era.
“On the old f**ing camcorder too. So it’s just like not good quality, which is great. Yes, it’s vintage.*
From shame to sarcasm, Saraya has clearly flipped the narrative. She’s no longer haunted by the scandal—she’s owning it, mocking it, and making sure she gets the last word. In an industry that rarely forgives women for their past, Saraya is doing it her way, and on her terms.
Do you think Saraya taking control of her own story is empowering—or should this part of her life be left in the past? Drop your take in the comments and let’s hear what you think.
