Saraya is seen as a pioneer in women’s professional wrestling, with a highly successful career in WWE. After spending over two years in AEW, she has now confirmed that she is leaving the company.

While speaking on her podcast Rulebreakers With Saraya, Saraya revealed that she is parting ways with AEW. Saraya confirms that her time with AEW has come to an end but emphasizes that there is no bad blood. She describes her experience as “magical” and expresses gratitude for her time there.

“I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end. I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time.”

Saraya explains that she initially planned to take a break around the holidays for personal reasons. However, she started questioning what was left for her to do in wrestling at this moment.

With no current storylines that fit her, she felt she might be taking a spot from someone else who could be doing something special. She also makes it clear that her decision has nothing to do with AEW founder Tony Khan.

“And then I got to thinking — what is there left for me to do in wrestling right now? Right now, there’s really no storylines where I would fit in. It’s just me thinking that I just don’t fit in right now. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special.”

Saraya leaves the door open for a potential return, saying she loves AEW but is taking a step back to focus on herself and her podcast. She thanks the AEW fans, praises Tony Khan, and expresses how much she will miss the women’s locker room, encouraging her colleagues to stay in touch.

“That’s not to say I will never come back to AEW — I absolutely love it. But I’m taking a little step back and focusing on myself for a bit, and putting my energy into the podcast with all the crew here. What a wonderful crew I have here.”

Saraya wrapped up by thanking the fans and praising Tony Khan. She expressed her love for her time in AEW, calling it a great experience. She also shared how much she will miss the women’s locker room and encouraged her colleagues to keep in touch, noting that she still sees some of them outside the company.

“Thank you, AEW. Thank you to the AEW fans — I loved my f—ing time there. Tony’s f—ing awesome. And anyone that goes to work there will just enjoy their time. It’s just great. And I’ll miss the girls’ locker room. I’ll miss you, but don’t be a f—ing stranger! You know where I am. I see some of you outside the company anyway.”

Saraya recently made it clear she will be taking a break from professional wrestling this year and focus on projects outside the business. Now that she is no longer part of AEW, we’ll have to wait and see what the future has in store for Saraya, as a return to WWE is definitely possible now.
