It was already reported that Santos Escobar was in line for a huge push in AAA. He made that first appearance back in his old stomping grounds tonight during their Fox debut.

Santos Escobar came out during AAA’s show and he made his presence known. He also received a great reception for the man who used to call the company his home. He is going to be a heel, as he showed up in his old mask and laid out the champion. Then he made it clear that he will be a force in the company once again.

Santos Escobar has a long history with AAA from his time as El Hijo del Fantasma, joining the promotion in 2013 after leaving CMLL and quickly becoming a key figure. During his run, he won the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship, later unified it with the Fusion title, won the Copa Antonio Peña in 2017, and led La Sociedad, with his work and family ties to El Fantasma helping pave the way for his eventual move to WWE.

There were a lot of questions about Santos Escobar after he re-signed with WWE. Now we know that he will be a bigger face in AAA, but this time he won’t be wearing a mask.

Santos Escobar re-signed with WWE in October 2025 after a short stretch as a free agent. He initially passed on an offer because of creative concerns, but later agreed to a multi-year deal that addressed those issues. Now that he is back, it appears that he will be a focal point of AAA.
