Samoa Joe made his return to AEW television recently after a long stint on the sidelines. He’s been dealing with some issues that kept him out of the ring, and the veteran talent has also earned any time off he needs. During the January 25 live episode of Collision, he took on Nick Wayne in a singles match.

AEW’s Collision this week was a bit of a special episode. They returned to Jacksonville’s Daily’s Place for their Homecoming episode. After all, the venue was home to the company throughout the pandemic, which also shares a parking lot with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ stadium.

Samoa Joe and Nick Wayne had the first match of the night this week on Collision. Hook was also at ringside. After about a ten-minute contest, Joe won with a muscle buster.

Samoa Joe has taken a few breaks from AEW in recent memory. He also had to film the Twisted Metal series, which he stars in as Sweet Tooth. Back in July, Samoa Joe took a pretty brutal trip through a wall thanks to The Learning Tree, and Chris Jericho only thanked Joe for the spot.
