Sammy Guevara’s return to AEW Dynamite didn’t go quite the way he hoped. The former TNT Champion stepped back into the spotlight last week in a hard-hitting match against ROH Champion Bandido—but left the ring bloodied and potentially injured.

In a new vlog posted to his YouTube channel titled “A Rough Way to Start the Year (Didn’t Expect This),” Guevara shared behind-the-scenes footage that revealed he may have suffered a broken nose during the bout. The video features graphic highlights from the match and cuts to Guevara backstage, staring into a mirror with blood running from his face.

“I don't think it broke, though. Does it look crooked?” Guevara asked while examining his nose. “I think I bashed my nose in a match years ago and it's been crooked ever since then.”

The ROH Tag Team Champion didn’t officially confirm a break, but notably liked a YouTube comment from a fan saying they were sorry he had his nose broken—possibly signaling that the injury is worse than he let on.

Fellow wrestler “Speedball” Mike Bailey appeared in the video as well, with Guevara telling him the injury “wasn’t in his plans for the day.”

Guevara and his tag partner Beast Mortos captured the vacant ROH World Tag Team Championships at Final Battle, though no upcoming defense has been announced. Whether this potential injury affects those plans remains to be seen.

Do you think Sammy Guevara is pushing through too soon after his return? Should AEW slow him down—or let him fight through it? Drop your thoughts and reactions in the comments below.
