Sammy Guevara’s certainly seen a lot of growth since 2019 and the biggest change happened after he became a father, especially since he stopped buying unnecessary things. In fact, Guevara has now revealed how he once spent a lot of money on a robe, which he now feels was just not needed.

While speaking to Wrestlezone, the Spanish God was asked about his most ridiculous or unnecessary purchase. Sammy Guevara looked back on some of the things he’s bought over the years.

Guevara explained that becoming a parent has changed how he thinks about spending money. He recently saw a large Goku statue at a convention priced at $400 and while he thought it was really cool, he couldn’t justify the purchase anymore.

“Yeah, I mean this was like early on, and like—especially like—having a baby changes everything when it comes to spending money. Now, I look at certain things… like I was at a con recently, and I was looking at this big Goku statue and it cost like $400, and I was like, ‘Man, this is really cool.’ But I was like, ‘Ah, come on. Am I really going to spend $400?’”

Guevara revealed that one of the craziest things he bought was a Ferdace robe for a vlog bit. He recalled spending around $500 on it or possibly even $700, and admitted it felt like a silly purchase.

Guevara still owns the robe but now questions why he ever spent that much money on something that’s essentially just a fancy bathrobe, especially when a regular towel would have done the job for much less.

“Even when I’m wearing it—like, I still have it to this day—but it’s like, man, why did I spend $500 on a robe? It probably was more. I think it might have been $700. But it’s just like a bathrobe, you know? Like I could just buy a towel for like 20 bucks or whatever. That was one of the stupidest purchases I think I’ve ever done.”

When it comes to how fatherhood has changed him in other ways, Guevara also admitted that he does not take as many risks anymore and wrestles smarter for good reason.

For Sammy Guevara, life is now more about what’s important like his family and career, and obviously less about buying fancy things just to show off online. Therefore, fans are happy to see that he’s become more mature and that’s all that matters in the end.
