Sami Zayn is one of the most respected Superstars on the roster at this point. When WWE RAW took over the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas for their January 20 episode, he was on hand to speak to fans.
During the first hour of the show this week, Sami Zayn took some time to address his status for the 2025 Royal Rumble match. The Underdog from the Underground made it clear that he is in the match this year.
Sami Zayn spoke about how Seth Rollins opened his eyes last week on RAW, and he’s going to do things for himself now. At this point in his career, Zayn will get involved in things with his own benefit in mind. He wants to break into the top tier of WWE.
Zayn stated that he believes he is in the top 5 guys in the company right now, and they’re in the Royal Rumble, so he’s joining him. He said the only thing that separates him from them is that they have a World Championship to their name, but he doesn’t.
Although Sami Zayn said that he doesn’t need a World Title reign to complete his run in WWE, and fan support has meant a ton to him, he still wants that title for himself, so he’s going to take it.
That is when Kevin Owens came out to rain on Sami Zayn’s parade. After Owens said that he believes that Sami Zayn can and will win the Royal Rumble, he said that they will make another memory at WrestleMania. Owens said that he will leave the Royal Rumble as Undisputed Champion, and he strongly hinted that Sami Zayn will be there for him if he needs it.
That was quite an interesting interaction between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens will be on Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday, where he will sign a contract for that match at the Royal Rumble with Shawn Michaels on hand to officiate things.
