Ryback hasn’t wrestled since 2018, but fans keep asking if The Big Guy is ever going to make a return. This week, he gave the clearest answer yet—and he indicated that it doesn’t sound like the ring is in his near future plans.

In a new Instagram post, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion shared a throwback video of his five favorite Shell Shock finishers. But the real story was in the caption, where Ryback detailed the extent of his physical trauma—and how far he’s come just to live a normal life.

“Just a reminder as well, I had two career-ending injuries with my back and my right shoulder. I have been beyond blessed to have recovered my back with over 20 stem cell procedures in my back and shoulder, getting my back to 100%, and I continue to work vigorously on my right shoulder week in and week out.”

He added that while he’s in better shape now than he’s been in years, his recovery has nothing to do with a wrestling comeback.

“I’m the best I have been in a very long time. I do it for me and for my life. I don’t do it to go back to wrestling. I do it to live healthy and to live to the best of my ability. That has been the truth from the very beginning, but that part was never covered.”

Ryback also vented about the nonstop questions he still gets from fans, even though he’s been open about his real goals.

“That’s why to this day, thousands of times a day, people ask me when I’m coming back. I’ve continued to tell the truth, but many just don’t know it because the truth wasn’t being shared.”

Ryback’s last match was in 2018 against indie wrestler Dylan Bostic. Since then, he was locked in a legal battle with WWE over his name, started online beefs with Booker T, Mark Henry, Busted Open Radio, Got into heated arguments with a Taco Bell employee and received threats from a stalker named Chase.
