With WrestleMania 41 just days away, WWE is still working out the final pieces of its match card—and one title bout is hanging in the balance.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, WWE hasn’t officially locked in the WWE Tag Team Championship match featuring The Street Profits and the Motor City Machine Guns. While the match seemed inevitable after the Machine Guns defeated DIY on the April 4 episode of SmackDown, WWE still hasn’t decided when it will take place.
“We also didn’t get a listing for Street Profits vs. Motor City Machine Guns, which was seemingly made when the Machine Guns beat DIY on the 4/4 SmackDown show with the winner getting a shot at the tag titles,” Meltzer noted. “I assume it was on Mania and was just told a decision on when the match takes place, whether TV the night before on SmackDown, or either night, will be made imminently.”
WrestleVotes previously reported that 14 matches are expected to fill out the WrestleMania 41 lineup across two nights at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. So far, only 12 matches have been confirmed, meaning there’s still room for one of the most talked-about bouts in the tag team division—if WWE decides to pull the trigger.
Should WWE save this clash for the grand stage of WrestleMania, or does it belong on the go-home SmackDown show instead? Drop your predictions in the comments and let us know how you’d book it.
