There is a rumor floating around via Sportskeeda and Cageside Seats that claim WWE may be planting the seeds for a possible re-match between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker at this year’s SummerSlam event.
What’s interesting about these claims is that they attribute Wrestling Observer as the source of this news, which we can confirm is false. After reviewing the past week’s audio clips from both Wrestling Observer Radio and Wrestling Observer Live, neither Dave Meltzer or Bryan Alvarez made such claims on any of their shows. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter from last week also has no mention of these “rumors” that were reported by these sites.

These rumors started to surface after WWE the following teaser on Social Media:
It’s obvious that this is just a teaser for the upcoming WWE 2K18 game. Every year the company puts out teasers like the one above to hype the game’s release. Wrestling Observer made mention of these teasers in their “Daily Update” yesterday but didn’t say that it would result in The Undertaker’s return to the company. At last word, The Undertaker has retired.
