Schiavone informs that he flew up and met with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn shortly after the WCW acquisition and they simply weren’t interested in hiring him at that time. In all honesty, he says he wasn’t surprised by this because he didn’t think his work was very good at that time. He was simply burnt out after the long, eventual demise of WCW.
Ross asks Schiavone if he would accept an invitation to return to WWE for a one-off show, or Network special. Schiavone says he would certainly love to be a part of something like that, but he doesn’t think that phone call is going to come anytime soon. He believes that he has been blacklisted from WWE for some reason, and he has no idea why that would be the case.
Schiavone informs that there was never a time when he was legitimately angry at any of his broadcast partners. Ross admits that he would often get angry at Paul Heyman while they worked together at the commentary booth. Ross says that Heyman would push all of the right buttons every week, but Ross loved every minute of it. Getting lost in those ‘real’ moments while doing commentary are some of Ross’ favourite memories in the business.
