Ross and Johnson both agree that we haven’t seen the best of Nakamura just yet. Johnson mentions that WWE has yet to give their audience a real reason to invest in or care about Nakamura. Other than having a great entrance and being very eccentric in the ring, the WWE Universe has no idea who Nakamura is or why they’re supposed to believe in him as a main event talent.
Johnson says he gives SummerSlam a 7/10 grade, and the fantastic Fatal 4-way main event match certainly popped that grade significantly. He thought Lesnar did a fantastic job in adding to the allure and lustre of Braun Strowman. Strowman has flipped ambulances and tossed office chairs, but by getting the upper hand on ‘The Beast’, Strowman’s status as a top guy in WWE is solidified.
Johnson comments on Jim Cornette’s return to the wrestling business as the on-air authority figure for GFW. Johnson says that it surprised him when he heard that Cornette agreed to work for GFW. On the other hand, he knows how much respect and admiration Cornette has for Jeff Jarrett and the entire Jarrett family, since Jarrett’s grandmother gave Cornette his start in the business many years ago. Ross believes Impact is a better show with Jim Cornette on it.
