Ron Killings has been the talk of the town ever since he dropped his R-Truth character on the June 9th edition of Raw. However, some people criticized Killings for his promo and now he has responded to the same criticism with a scathing response.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about Ron Killings’ segment on Raw where he cut his hair. He said that when Killings stopped using the “Truth” name and became Ron Killings, it didn’t make sense to go back to saying “the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”
Bully felt that once Killings cut his hair on live TV, since the hair represented the “Truth” character, he should’ve moved on for good. If Killings wants people to take him seriously now, he shouldn’t keep bringing up the past.
"When he stepped away from 'Truth' and became Ron Killings, then went back to saying 'the whole truth and nothing but the truth,' I didn’t want to hear that. Not last night. Once you cut your hair off, I never wanted to hear the name 'Truth' again. Don’t remind me of what you were trying to leave behind.
You cut your hair in front of the world because that hair represented 'Truth.' I don’t want to hear it anymore. You’re Ron Killings. That’s it. End of story. No more taglines about the truth. No more bringing it up. If you want to be taken seriously now, don’t bring up your past."
Ron Killings responded to Bully Ray’s criticism with a scathing rant that included multiple f-bombs. He asked who Bully Ray was to tell him who he is. Killings said he knows exactly who he is and doesn’t need anyone else to define that for him. He said he’s not playing the “nice guy” anymore and he’s the one in control now. He’s not angry, just done being taken advantage of. From now on, things are going to be different.
"Who the f*** is he talking to? Yeah—people. Who’s he to tell me who I am? I know who I am. I’m protecting him. Everyone has someone trying to tell them who the f*** they are. I know who I am. I’m not the nice one. I’m driving now. Don’t let anybody tell you who you are—you know you better than anybody.
And I know me better than anyone knows me too. They better put some respect on my f****** name, because I am the Truth. So help me.
Wow. How you gonna tell me why I cut my hair? I do what I want to do. This ain’t the nice version of me anymore. But I’m not mad—I just won’t be taken advantage of anymore. Things are going to change. I’m driving now."
Killings also stated that a lot of people try to tell you how to live, how to feel, and what to do, but no one runs his life except him. He feels more alive and more sure of himself than ever before and now, he’s the one driving his own story.
"No, I don’t think people really understand. You’ve got a lot of people who want to put their opinion in. A lot of people who think they control your life, your emotions, your thoughts. But nobody controls me. Nobody conducts me. I do me.
I wish you would try. I feel different now. I feel more alive than I’ve ever felt. I’m driving now. You can tell everybody that."
Ron Killings has made it clear that he’s done letting others decide his role. He’s starting a new chapter his own way, no matter what fans or critics think. Therefore, we’ll have to see how WWE will book Killings in the coming weeks as it’s clear he is destined for great things.
