Roman Reigns didn’t hold back during his Pat McAfee Show interview ahead of the 2026 Royal Rumble, and now wrestling insiders believe his pointed comments about WWE’s creative direction were more than just frustration—they were a calculated move from within The Rock’s inner circle.
During the interview, Reigns made it clear that while WWE is thriving on the business side, creative has been lagging behind:
“We have great leadership in Nick Khan… but we have to be able to keep up with that creatively. I got the formula. I know how to cook it up.”
On The Coach & Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman immediately called it what it looked like:
“That was a direct shot at creative… and Triple H is creative.”
Vince Russo took it even further, connecting Reigns’ statement to a broader shift in WWE’s internal power structure. Russo claimed this wasn’t just a Roman Reigns promo—this was the Rock’s camp sending a clear signal. Russo believes this “statement” will have long-term consequences and even made a bold prediction:
“Roman Reigns is an extension of The Rock,” Russo said. “Let’s piggyback that with this: The Rock’s daughter quitting the company. And let’s piggyback that with this: her girlfriend was released the week before. That’s the other side making a statement.”
“I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this—January 1st, 2027, Triple H will not be in the same role he’s currently in. I’m 1000% convinced of that.”
The post-Rumble press conference only poured gasoline on the fire, with live fan chants of “We want Vince” reportedly shaking Triple H on stage.
Whether Reigns’ comments were approved, ad-libbed, or part of a deeper strategy, they’ve cracked open a conversation about WWE’s current creative climate—and who’s really pulling the strings behind the curtain.
