Roman Reigns is finally speaking out on the civil lawsuit filed against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon—and he’s not sugarcoating his reaction.
In a new Vanity Fair interview published this week, Reigns offered rare public comments on the sexual assault and trafficking allegations made by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The suit, filed in early 2024, also names WWE and former executive John Laurinaitis as defendants.
Reigns expressed sympathy for Grant while calling the accusations against McMahon difficult to stomach. “She’s got to live with all these situations that happened and hopefully she’s in a place where she feels comfortable and she’s secure in her own place,” he said. “It’s embarrassing. That’s stuff you don’t want to hear about. You don’t want your family to hear about.”
He didn’t stop there. Reigns also acknowledged the serious impact the situation has had on the company’s reputation, saying the allegations are “a stain” on WWE.
According to the lawsuit, Grant alleges she was trafficked and sexually assaulted during her employment with WWE from 2019 to 2022. She further claims she was pressured to sign a nondisclosure agreement when she left the company. McMahon has publicly denied all allegations.
Reigns’ comments mark one of the few times a top WWE talent has directly addressed the lawsuit on record.
