Ring of Honor could be heading back to its roots — and into a potential new era.
After speculation surrounding the future of ROH, new details have emerged that signal change may be underway. With All Elite Wrestling continuing to sign talent at a steady pace, questions have circulated about whether Ring of Honor is preparing for a new television deal or shifting creative direction.
Now, ROH is set to film a studio-style show on March 1 at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. Sources via Fightful select within AEW indicate that talent has already been informed about the tapings, and there’s belief internally that this location could become a regular home base for ROH moving forward. That studio setup could signal a more defined identity for the brand — separate from AEW’s touring model.
This isn’t the first time Ring of Honor has experimented with centralized tapings. In the past, ROH filmed at Universal Studios in Orlando. There was also backstage talk years ago about making Daily’s Place in Jacksonville a consistent filming location for the brand, though that plan never materialized.
The bigger question hovering over all of this remains television. Tony Khan has fielded TV offers for ROH in the past. In 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery offered a Friday night 10 PM slot for ROH programming. Khan declined the offer and instead used the time slot for an AEW Dynamite replay.
According to those familiar with the situation, Khan has a very specific valuation in mind for what Ring of Honor television rights should command — and he hasn’t been willing to settle below that number.
With new studio tapings now locked in and AEW continuing to expand its roster, the moves suggest ROH is not being shelved — but recalibrated.
