Rikishi, real name Solofa Fatu Jr., is an American professional wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer known for his iconic sumo-inspired persona, entertaining dance routines, and deep roots in the legendary Anoaʻi wrestling family. Born on October 11, 1965, in San Francisco, California, USA, he became one of WWE’s most popular characters during the Attitude Era and beyond.

Rikishi Personal Life

ikishi debuted in 1985 under various ring names and gained fame as part of The Headshrinkers tag team before reinventing himself in 1999 as the sumo-inspired Rikishi Phatu, later simply Rikishi. With his distinctive bleach-blonde hair, mawashi, and signature “Stinkface” move, he became a fan favorite, winning the WWF Intercontinental Championship, World Tag Team Championship (twice), and WWE Tag Team Championship. In 2015, Rikishi was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

As part of the storied Anoaʻi family, Rikishi is brother to Superfly Jimmy Snuka (in-law), Umaga, and Tonga Kid, and uncle to stars like Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa. Married to Talisua Fuavai-Fatu since 1985, he has eight children, many of whom are wrestlers. Rikishi overcame adversity—including surviving a near-fatal drive-by shooting in 1982—to forge a long and memorable career.
