Ridge Holland just dropped a tough update — and it’s the kind of news no injured wrestler wants to hear. WWE won’t be renewing his contract, leaving him out of work while he recovers from a serious foot injury that will keep him sidelined for at least six months.
The former WWE star made the announcement on Twitter, revealing that his deal ends on November 14, and the company has informed him it won’t be extended. Holland is still recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury suffered during a match with Moose at the September 27 TNA tapings in Edmonton, a bout that had to be stopped mid-way after he landed awkwardly. He underwent surgery on October 3. Now, with no contract and no way to wrestle, Ridge is being forced to pivot.
“I’ve been informed that WWE will not be renewing my contract when it ends on November 14th,” Holland wrote. “WWE are still going to cover my rehab from injury but my guaranteed pay will end, quite frustrating to say the least as I cannot work for another 6 months due to the aforementioned injury, with a family of 5 to support.”
Despite the circumstances, he remained grateful for the experience — even if his WWE run never fully took off due to repeated injuries.
“My career with WWE has been blighted by misfortune but I’m still thankful and grateful for the opportunity and experience. The shining light that has always kept me going is the HUGE support from a handful of special human beings.”
And while his wrestling future remains uncertain, Ridge isn’t staying still. He plans to launch a new business while he rehabs.
“I’m unsure what lies ahead of me in terms of wrestling but going forward I will be working hard to heal up and in that time I will be launching my own online coaching business…..so stay tuned.”
For fans who saw promise in Holland’s physicality and grit — especially during his time with Sheamus and Butch in The Brawling Brutes — this latest chapter stings. But if there’s one thing he’s proven, it’s resilience.
