Ridge Holland has shared a worrying update about his health just as his WWE contract is set to expire.
The former Brawling Brute took to social media on October 21, 2025, revealing that he’s heading to Birmingham, Alabama, for a major medical check-up that could determine the next steps in his recovery — and possibly his future in wrestling.
Holland, who suffered a severe foot injury during a TNA taping earlier this year, explained that he’s due to have his cast removed next week and will undergo additional X-rays to check the healing progress. However, he also revealed that another issue — a lingering neck injury — could result in surgery if things don’t go as hoped.
“So, just a bit of an update. Next Tuesday, I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama to have the cast off, some more X-Rays to make sure that the foot is all good and we can go to partial weight bearing. The kicker is that prior to the foot, I had a neck injury that was going to get imaging for. I got imaging for that post-foot surgery and I’m going to Birmingham to see the neck specialist. Worst case scenario, I’ll need neck surgery and I’m hoping for the best case scenario, which is injections but I’m having some nerve impingement which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen because it’s another kick in the balls, really. I’ll keep you posted.”
Holland’s update comes at a difficult time. His WWE contract officially expires on November 14, and despite the injury happening during a WWE-approved appearance for TNA, he won’t be paid once the deal ends. WWE is covering his rehab only because of the legal implications that could arise if they didn’t, according to Fightful Select.
The former rugby player’s situation has reportedly left many inside the WWE locker room disappointed, with several talent privately criticizing how the company handled his case. Holland’s previous contract extension was said to be worth around “$200,000 less” than his main roster deal, and he didn’t receive any additional pay for the TNA taping where the injury occurred.
Now, with a potential neck surgery looming and no paycheck coming in, Ridge Holland faces months of rehab and uncertainty. It’s a brutal situation for a performer who’s given years to the business, only to be left recovering without financial stability.
