Ricochet has been all-in on playing the villain since joining AEW, but his latest Twitter exchange just took things up a notch.
After defending AEW’s approach to listening to fans, Ricochet found himself in the crosshairs of popular wrestling podcaster JDfromNY—and let’s just say, JD didn’t hold back.
Responding to Ricochet’s claim that AEW values every fan, JDfromNY blasted him, writing:
“Who wants to tell Trevor that I was a real fan, and that he is late to the fing party with grossly over exaggerated misinformation? You don’t listen to your fans. You all live in a bubble where nothing is wrong and everything is SO GREAT! You all fin’ hate your fans and the company shuns genuine concern and criticism to appease one man. Hope this helps, Trev.”
Instead of firing back with another long response, Ricochet kept it short and brutal, quoting the tweet and simply writing: “Class, like I was talking about earlier. This is an example of ‘dumb sht idiot.’”*
But JDfromNY wasn’t done yet. When a fan chimed in and pointed out that JD himself once admitted Ricochet was “the most interesting he’s ever been in 7 years,” JD doubled down on his stance, dragging AEW even further.
“Buddy, he wrestles in front of a dwindling audience every week, and tells me they listen to the fans. If so, where the f** did they all go?*
He ruined all credibility he has to opt to play an online troll and degrade any sense of actual criticism of a product and company he has only been a part of for 6 months.”
Love him or hate him, Ricochet isn’t backing down—and he’s making sure everyone knows it. Whether he’s dodging toilet paper in the ring or taking shots on Twitter, he’s fully embracing his new persona and turning every interaction into a headline. But is he proving a point, or just proving JDfromNY right?
Is Ricochet justified in clapping back at critics, or is JDfromNY right about AEW’s disconnect with fans? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
