Ricochet isn’t just watching Tommaso Ciampa rise from the sidelines—he’s ready to talk trash and maybe even chase him down for the TNT title.
In a recent appearance on The Mark Hoke Show, Ricochet was asked about Ciampa’s sudden success in AEW. Ciampa had shocked fans by winning the TNT Championship less than a week after debuting. That led to a fun conversation about Ciampa’s past jokes—especially one about a “reverse hair vs. hair” match where the loser would have to grow their hair out. Ricochet leaned into it with a laugh:
“I mean, I feel like I could rock a pretty mean skull. But it wouldn't be me growing my hair out, that's for sure. I'd still be, you know, bald as the day is old.”
Then he upped the trolling with a reference to NBA star Carlos Boozer’s notorious hair spray incident during a 2012 Bulls game:
“Maybe he can get the Carlos Boozer where he like painted his hair on that one time.”
Still, the teasing didn’t stop Ricochet from taking the idea of facing Ciampa seriously. The two have history from NXT and the indies but have never locked up one-on-one. That could change soon—with some gold on the line. Ricochet even dropped a not-so-subtle hint that he’s eyeing the TNT Championship himself.
“We've had history in the past, he and I. We've been in matches before all over. And I think that—I don't think we've ever actually had a singles one-on-one. So that would actually definitely be something that I think people would want to see. He just recently became [TNT Champion] and I've never actually went after the TNT titles before. So, I think maybe if I went after the TNT title, that would’ve been something that was around my shoulder as well. So, who knows?”
While the jokes are flying now, Ricochet made it clear a title match isn’t out of the question. And with Ciampa’s momentum building, the TNT Championship picture could get real interesting—especially if Ricochet wants to finally settle their unfinished business one-on-one.
