AEW’s new partnership with Prime Video has caused some serious confusion, and Ricochet is not here for it.

After seeing people mistakenly assume AEW pay-per-views would be free with an Amazon Prime membership, he took to Twitter and didn’t hold back.

“I love how DUMB people are. Apparently, they all forgot what ‘PPV’ means. Lol” Ricochet wrote. “‘I have Prime, so I should be able to watch for free?’ As they rent/buy movies, TV shows, and more. Idiots, man. Idiots.”*

The deal is pretty straightforward—AEW pay-per-views will now be available for purchase through Prime Video, just like how UFC sells its PPVs on ESPN+. Events like Revolution, Dynasty, Double or Nothing, All In, Forbidden Door, All Out, WrestleDream, Full Gear, and Worlds End will be on Prime Video, but they won’t come included with a standard Prime subscription. Fans will still have to pay extra to watch, just like they always have.

This isn’t an exclusive deal, either. AEW’s pay-per-views will remain available on traditional PPV platforms, TrillerTV, and even Max (formerly HBO Max) later this year. The move simply gives AEW another way to sell its biggest events, tapping into Prime Video’s massive global reach of 220 million subscribers.

Despite all that, some fans still seemed to think AEW shows would be a free perk for Prime members—something Ricochet clearly had no patience for.

Do you agree with Ricochet’s take, or was he too harsh? Should AEW look into offering a subscription model instead? Sound off in the comments!
