The pro wrestling world holds title belts in high regard, and a new champion was crowned at Full Gear. That being said, the match to decide that champion was an interesting one.

AEW’s Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view went down at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The night was full of big moments, and that included a new champion.

AEW has a lot of title belts already, but Tony Khan thought that they could use another one. During Full Gear, they held a match to crown the inaugural AEW National Champion. This was a Casino Gauntlet match, so it could have gone anywhere.

This match started out with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin going toe-to-toe. Then Ricochet came out as number 3 to say that fans wanted to see them tear each other apart before his Gates of Agony stablemates jumped them in the ring. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin were laid out as the match started.

After that, Claudio came out, as he entered through the crowd. Then Daniel Garcia joined the match to give Claudio even more of an advantage. After that, Orange Cassidy came out to join the match, and he received an amazing reception from fans.

Wheeler Yuta came out next, and he came through the crowd as Orange Cassidy waited for him in the ring. Kevin Knight joined the match, and he immediately took the fight to Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. Then Rodrick Strong came out next to try and become the first-ever AEW National Champion.

Mark Davis came out as the first Don Callis Family representative. Then Speedball Mike Bailey came out to liven things up. Matt Menard came out next, and Daniel Garcia wasn’t pleased about that at all. In the end, Ricochet was able to pull off the win, making him the first-ever AEW National Champion.
