Ricky Starks wasted no time making an impact after his AEW departure as he debuted during the February 11 episode of NXT. Naturally, this led to questions about whether he would also appear at NXT Vengeance Day this week, and now his status for the event has been revealed.
According to a report by Steven Muehlhausen, who has broken several stories, sources have confirmed that Ricky Starks is expected to be at the Vengeance Day Premium Live Event at the CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C. on February 15th.
This comes after Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling announced that Ricky Starks would no longer be at their February 15 event at the Tannery Row Ale House due to circumstances beyond their control. However, they promised fans that the show would still be an exciting night of high-quality independent wrestling.
“🚨Important announcement🚨 Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ricky Starks will not be in attendance on Saturday, February 15th at the Tannery Row Ale House. However, you can still expect the same incredible evening of Georgia’s premier star studded, action packed, family friendly, independent professional wrestling that TCW Live has to offer! We will see you at the matches!”
Dave Meltzer also reported that WWE originally planned to introduce Ricky Starks at a big NXT event later this year. However, once he became available, they decided to move things along faster, saying, “Even before his release, WWE had plans for Starks to debut in NXT at a major event later this year, but sped up the process as soon as he was available.”
With Ricky Starks now an important part of NXT, his future in WWE looks promising. His appearance at Vengeance Day could be the beginning of a major journey in the company, so it remains to be seen what WWE has planned for him at the Premium Live Event.
